LETTER OF COMMUNICATION

Dear Customer,

Following a decision by Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland to strategically divest, we at Clayton Glass are delighted to announce that we have agreed terms and exchanged contracts to acquire both the Motherwell and Canterbury IGU-manufacturing facilities.

The purpose of this communication is to introduce myself and welcome you as a Clayton customer, as well as to hopefully cover any questions, and put your mind at ease about any concerns you may have.

My name is Ryan Green, I am the Owner and Managing Director of Clayton Glass Ltd, one of the UK’s largest and most trusted manufacturers of insulating glass units.

I know it can be an uncertain time for any business when undergoing a change in supplier ownership, but I’d just like to assure you that in Clayton Glass you are getting a supplier with tremendous experience and expertise. It’s a tight-knit industry we operate in, and I hope and believe that were you to take up references from local business we already deal with, you would get a positive response.

Our initial aim is simply to fact find, and we intend to change as little as possible about our two new sites. We recognise and value the hard work that has gone into the impressive performance these facilities are already achieving and would value your opinions of what you see as strengths and opportunities, above all else.

I would like to tell you a little bit about the company you’ll be associated with, and hopefully want to remain. With these acquisitions, Clayton Glass becomes a 6-site operation with over 600 valued employees. Our other facilities are our headquarters in Harelaw (County Durham), a second IGU-making factory in Huthwaite (Nottinghamshire), and our specialist roof glass facilities in Blackburn (Lancashire) and North Shields (Newcastle).

First and foremost, we pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our customers, providing you with the dedication and bespoke service you would expect from a smaller, family-run business, but at the scale of one of the UK’s largest IGU manufacturers. We call this approach “the Clayton difference”.

With these new assets, we will further strengthen our nationwide service, with an estimated 65,000 units per week capability across all our sites.

Clayton Glass first opened its doors in 1956, and has a long history in glass and glazing, giving us considerable experience and expertise, not just of glass itself, but also of running this type of specialised facility. We hope this will allow these changes to run smoothly.

We also have our Clayton Glass company website, where you can find out a whole host of information about the company, our history and our products and services, one of which being our glass order tracking software “glassTRACK” which is available exclusively to Clayton Glass customers. A new credit application form which we’ll need completing, can also be found here.

With these new acquisitions, we’ll be integrating the sales and customer facing staff from Motherwell and Canterbury into the current commercial set up, to further provide expertise and best practice to our already high level of personable service. I’d just like to go on the record and tell you how excited we are to be working with you.

Jason and I on the commercial front, together with our wider sales and customer service teams, will make a point of getting to know you so we can come together and create a bespoke, tailored solution that works for you. Before long, we’ll organise a time to come and meet you in person and introduce ourselves properly.

The purchase of these two new sites represents a big moment in the history of our company, and we’ll work as hard as we can to make sure this process goes as smoothly as possible, ensuring it has minimal effect on your business.

You can be sure you’ll hear more from us in the near future, but if you need anything from myself in the meantime, feel free to drop me an email at ryan.green@claytonglass.co.uk.

Together I hope we can create a strong relationship, and that we can play our part to help your business meet all of its aspirations.

Kind regards,

Ryan Green, the Directors and Management of Clayton Glass Ltd
