The UK glass supply chain remains very challenging due to ongoing raw material shortages, coupled with reduced capacity from Europe (Ukraine and Russia specifically) and various manufacturing issues at the three UK glass plants. Consequently, availability of several products has been disrupted. Specifically, the availability of self-cleaning blue glass is an issue for the next few months, following recurring manufacturing issues that have yet to be resolved.
We have worked with our supply chain to secure a number of alternative options to substitute this particular product, but unfortunately there is an impact on the products we are able offer.
In the short term, our standard solar control blue roof glass products will no longer have a self-clean coating as standard. Existing lead times and cost however will be maintained. All other technical properties of the glass remain unchanged (solar factor, u-value).
Should a self-cleaning coating be required, we continue to be able to offer a solar control self-clean glasses in either a neutral, bronze or aqua options at existing lead times and cost.
Alternatively, we can apply an easy-clean coating to the solar control blue glass at an additional cost of £15/m2, at existing lead times, and the same 10-year guarantee.
Finally, we have secured, albeit at a significant cost premium, a limited quantity of self-cleaning blue solar control glass. This unfortunately is subject to an additional £10/m2 surcharge on current rates and will be on an extended lead time of circa 3-4 weeks and is limited in volume.
The situation remains very fluid and when supply of these products ease, we will of course update you immediately and remove these additional constraints.
Our sincere apologies for the disruption this may cause you and your business but please be assured we are doing everything possible with our supply partners to remedy the situation.
