We’re sure it hasn’t gone without notice that for a prolonged period, and in reality probably stretching to pre-COVID days, that in one area or another our lead times have been extended.
This has mostly been due to factors outside of our control, such as health restrictions, raw material shortages, logistics issues and general availability of labour in some areas. This, coupled with unprecedented demand for our products and services, has given us little room for manoeuvre over much of the last 18 months, as the industry in general has grappled with a period of change.
Following the acquisitions we made in June, and a significant programme of development, it is however pleasing to see many of these issues easing.
As of now, we have all our six sites operating on 5-8 working day lead times from the point of order, for roofs and standard IGU products. Over the coming weeks, we hope to build on this with a returned ability to Fast-track urgent orders and remakes, to ensure our customer base is best equipped to tackle what could well be a tough market ahead.
