Clayton Glass are delighted to announce the sponsorship of Annfield Plain Cricket Club for the upcoming season!

Located near our Harelaw headquarters, Annfield Plain Cricket Club (or APCC for short) are a collection of Cricket teams ranging from juniors to over 60s.

Chairman, Steven Newstead, shared his thoughts on the new partnership:

“We’d like to say thank you to Clayton Glass for their support of our club for the 2022 season. At the present time this country, and more importantly our region, is facing unprecedented financial hardship and Annfield Plain Cricket Club, being in the sporting and leisure industry, is being hit harder than most, as disposable income is becoming less as the cost of living rises.

We have thriving senior and junior sections, the vast majority of whom come from the immediate surrounding area and from the poorer parts of the community. A number of Clayton’s employees also play for our teams and frequent our clubhouse. With Clayton’s assistance we intend to build on our recent projects to provide all our members with a focus and help to keep them being involved in sporting activities.

Sporting clubs, and especially cricket clubs, are finding it more and more difficult to keep our facilities relevant and accessible to all. Clayton’s kind donation will enable us to keep our club moving in the right direction during this difficult time. As part of our arrangement, we will be displaying the Clayton Glass logo on all our senior teams’ shirts as well as advertising the branding throughout the club, ground and on all our social media sites.”

We at Clayton Glass are enthused about the opportunity to support and develop one of our local sports teams. Partnering with APCC in particular is something that we’re very proud of, due to the fact that a number of our staff play for the club.

Sam Stephenson, Clayton Team Leader and captain of APCC’s first team, added:

“As an employee of Clayton Glass and 1st team captain of Annfield Plain Cricket Club, it’s great to see the two come together. It’s a great opportunity for APCC as we look to improve our great club, not just for the short term, but long term. Hopefully this a relationship that will last many years.

I can’t wait to see the Clayton Logo on our brand-new New Balance kit. Everyone involved at Clayton Glass are welcome anytime to the cricket club, whether it’s to enjoy a pint or watch some competitive cricket.”

Ryan Green, Clayton Glass’ Managing Director had the following to say on the partnership with Annfield Plain Cricket Club:

“We’re delighted to be able to provide sponsorship to APCC for the upcoming season! I think the logo will look fantastic on the new kits.

We have a number of APCC players that are valued members of the team at our Harelaw site in County Durham, so this sponsorship is two-fold for me in that we have a great opportunity to partner with a highly-regarded and well-respected local sports team, but also that we can support our staff in something they enjoy.

Best of luck for the new season when it comes around.”

This is not the first time Clayton have sought to partner with a local sports team, with ongoing sponsorships in place with Belper Town Football Club and the Sutton Stings Ice Hockey Juniors team.
