Update from Pilkton Glass 9th July 2025

Earlier this year, we relocated the production of Texture by Pilkington™ from our Watson Street Works site to Greengate Works, where we also manufacture float glass. This move represents a significant investment in UK texture glass manufacturing and will save 15,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually by utilising an upgraded furnace for both float and texture glass production.Since production began at Greengate Works in April 2025, we have successfully manufactured Stippolyte™, Cotswold™, Autumn™, and Arctic™ on the new line.

We are pleased to confirm that we now hold strong stock levels of these patterns with no allocation process in place and are continuing to build stock while expanding production to include other patterns in the Texture by Pilkington™ range. As previously communicated, we used 3D scanning technology to ensure the patterns remain as close as possible to the originals. Due to the different roller sizes used on the new line, some subtle design changes were necessary. These changes have resulted in more defined patterns, which we believe do not affect privacy levels. We will continue to monitor this as we progress through the full pattern range.

Additionally, the texture glass now uses a new substrate, making it slightly clearer than the original product. This is most noticeable when comparing the edges of old and new texture glass. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Pilkington Representative.
